The nation is celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) today (Wednesday) with religious fervour, renewing the pledge to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH). Earlier on Tuesday, the chief of the Sunni Tehreek (ST), Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, has warned the government to refrain from imposing US policy on the country. “The 180 million people of Pakistan are not American slaves, but we are the slaves of Madina and we would not hesitate from sacrificing our lives for the sake of Islam and the ideology of Pakistan,” he said while addressing a huge rally on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Tuesday. The rally started from Liaquatabad Dakkhana and culminated in Kharadar.

Afghan man, woman ‘stoned to death’ over love affair
KUNDUZ: A man and woman have been stoned to death in northern Afghanistan after being accused by the Taliban of having an affair, a witness and an official said Monday.
The 23-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were killed because “they had an affair,” said Mohammad Ayob, the governor of Imam Sahib district in Kunduz province. “Two people were stoned to death by Taliban in Mullah Quli village late yesterday,” he said. The village is under the control of the Taliban. Mullah Quli resident Abdul Satar said about 100 people, most of them Taliban insurgents, gathered in the village on Sunday evening as a statement was read out saying the pair had confessed to their affair. He said the man was married to someone else, and the woman was engaged.
Fiji Dairy imports average of 2.5 million litres of milk a year
The Fiji Dairy Limited is importing an average of 2.5 million litres of milk a year.
This amounts to around four million dollars a year.
Fiji Dairy Limited, Chairperson Amita Singh said the company has recently providing training to farmers on farm management and animal husbandry to increase the local production.
Singh added that they need the stakeholders support through technical assistance to farmers to increase yields.
She said they are also expanding current milk supplier base.
